What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is one of the most effective and safest therapies for helping people to change those negative habits, behaviours and feelings that are stopping them from enjoying the life the really want.

How Does Hypnosis Work?

Our minds work on two levels – the conscious and the sub-conscious. We make decisions, think and act with our conscious mind. The sub-conscious mind is where everything you have learned since a child, behaviours, habits, memories and emotions are stored. Some of those memories and behaviours may be the very ones you wish to change for example, stopping smoking, weight issues become more confident, overcoming a phobia, anxiety or healing from loss.

When a person is under hypnosis they are in a very relaxed, calm and natural state of awareness. The relaxation reached is so great that the worries of everyday life are switched off. Stress and worry fade away and you may find yourself as you would engrossed in your favourite book or film totally focused on what is happening on the screen. This allows Carlene to communicate directly with the sub-conscious mind to make positive lasting changes. Most other forms of therapy are carried out at a conscious level, and the willpower of the conscious mind has been medically proven to not be as effective at making lasting changes compared to the sub-conscious mind which houses the learned behaviours and imagination. A good example is when people try and use willpower alone to lose weight only to find themselves putting it back on. By addressing issues at the sub-conscious level, you address the root cause this is where real and lasting changes can be made.

Is Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy the same as sleep?

No, it’s not the same, it’s an altered state of mind like daydreaming, or becoming so absorbed in an activity that you lose all track of time. During these times you are not asleep but in a very relaxed state of mind.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

The state of deep mental relaxation is very pleasant, and your mind will remain very clear throughout, however deeply you go. There is no question of being controlled or manipulated against your will; you always remain in control. Hypnosis is obtained through focused concentration, for example on the therapist’s voice and/or soothing music. Once the deep state of hypnotic relaxation has been reached, the subconscious mind is able to absorb information, suggestion and other content which bring about the desired therapeutic changes.

Energy Healing Therapies

EFT & TFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) & TFT (Thought Field Therapy)?

EFT & TFT are both based on Chinese Energy Therapy which addresses energy imbalances within the body. TFT is based around tapping specific meridian energy lines and EFT is based around an overall tapping of energy lines, both are equally as effective. The techniques involve tapping on certain energy meridian lines within the upper part of the body, it is a very gentle and easy technique and the beauty is there are: No needles, no pills or chemicals, no pushing or pulling of the body.

Energy Balancing

Energy balancing is also based on using techniques that work with the bodies meridian lines to get your body feeling healthier, less tired and can help with many illnesses and ailments.  If you think about the famous Nobel Prize winning physicist Albert Einstein’s formula E = mc2 squared which basically means “energy is all there is”. Energy is in every cell and organ in our body. How many times have you used the phrase “I feel drained” or “I’ve got no energy” well that is your body telling you that it needs balancing and a healthy flow of energy. The energies govern the way your body functions – your immune system, hormones and keeps the body alive.  Carlene will use specific energy techniques that can address many issues hormonal imbalances, address fatigue and tiredness, support your immune system and ability to heal.

Reiki

Reiki is vey relaxing therapy that is based on the therapist using “hands-on” healing energy. The client remains fully clothed and wrapped in a warm blanket. During the therapy some clients have reported feeling a lovely warmth in parts of their body and/or seeing beautiful colours.
